Song of Nümenstar is finally published!
Author: AJ Feagin
“A book is the door to a new world.” -A.J. Feagin
Alyssa Jeanne Feagin was born on February 11th, 1974 in Dayton, Ohio. At age ten, A.J. wrote that tag line on the top of a self-designed bookmark that was part of a fourth grade school project as part of C.R. Coblentz’s book week and won first place in her fourth grade class. To this day A.J. stands by that quote. Reading a book is what connects us to others and to ourselves and lets us see the world from a different perspective.
Yet books were not the only creative inspiration for her. A.J.’s grandmother taught her how to play the piano at age five and she took up the flute as a second instrument at age eleven. She also played in the Wittenberg Wind Ensemble in college.
Despite a great passion and interest in the performing arts, A.J. took up a more practical study in college. She majored in Chemistry at Wittenberg University. She was awarded several honors including Alpha Lambda Delta honor society and Outstanding Organic Chemistry Student. After achieving a B.A. in Chemistry from Wittenberg University, she worked as a research chemist. Then she attended the University of Wisconsin and obtained a Doctorate of Pharmacy, during which she was also a part of the Rho Chi Academic Honor Society. For over fifteen years she has worked as a pharmacist.
But her heart and imagination has always looked to the stars where the possibility of other civilizations and worlds—like ours—could exist. This is what inspired her to write her first novel.
